Pass the Tissues Please!

I still cannot post pictures, but I will give you a brief update....
Danielle has had some sad moments, grieving for her foster family.
But mostly, she is happy and giggly and full of energy! We went to the local history museum in Urumqi today and learned about the local culture and how it developed over history. We saw some encased mummies, very interesting. Avery was not loving the dead bodies too much. We walked to a nearby park and explored. We found some little cars that the kids could drive and some older gentlemen flying some serious kites. Then we went to a local department store that seemed to be like a Macys. We bought some shoes for Danielle - her shoes were 2 sizes too small and I could tell that she was not too comfortable with them. The other ones I had brought with are too big. We found some that are just right.
We ate at the food court in the store today and it was perfect. Everyone found something to eat - all on the ethnic Chinese side - but nonetheless, everyone was happy and full. Then we came back to the room just to play - it has been so busy that this was a welcome treat. The girls are bonding well and Danielle is thrilled with Jack!
No tears before bed tonight, so that was a blessing! We head to Heavenly Lake today - hope that the weather is good! I heard we may be heading into a typhoon when we travel Friday to Guangzhou... great..... can't imagine how to navigate travel delays in a city where few speak English!!
