How Strange Is It....

that she does not even know her name is Danielle,
that she is an orphan that knows how to downhill snow ski,
that we have to wait almost a year to go get her and bring her home,
that she is already loved beyond her understanding,
that I think about her all the time,
that I am almost terrified to meet her,
that I never knew how awesome the US/Chinese adoption community is,
that I feel physically ill that I have not received this piece of paper from China today,
that if I get this piece of paper from China I will seriously cry scream laugh and tell the world,
that a woman in San Francisco who I have never met found my daughter and introduced her to me,
that I truly feel like this was always meant to be.

Another permission granted....

We received permission from the Chinese Consulate in San Fran to travel to China. These are our family travel visas. Way cool. They put them in our passports. Wish we had the rest of the paper work done in order to use these visas... like.... TODAY!! Still waiting for our LOA. Maybe this is the week.....

Somewhere over the rainbow (it has been raining here....A LOT) our daughter is waiting for a big hug from her forever family.

To my good friend Allison (who I must now heavily pressure to start a blog of her own, as she is travelling to Urumqi in August ahead of us to also adopt her 2 year old daughter - biggest smile you could imagine on that little doll!) - anyway, Allison, thanks for all the smiles and laughs! Did you try that "cat thing" yet?? :p Keep them coming!

Packaged with Care

Back a few months ago, we sent Danielle Yu Jie a few care packages. The first one we used my great friend, Angela, at Lady Bugs N Love. She did some wonderful shopping for me in China and sent the goodies to Danielle at her orphanage! These are the pictures of those items.

We also sent another care package to the orphanage and to Danielle filled with "American" stuff. It can sometimes be a challenge to find "Made In The USA" items!! Angela, again, helped us get the big UPS box to the orphanage. It contained a lot of great clothes, jewelry and makeup for the orphanage staff and for Danielle we sent a new photo album of us, some toys and clothes and a great kitty stuffed animal that Avery picked out.

We are planning to send one more care package to her before we travel. We want to share some more fun photos, maybe a picture of her new bedroom (which is under construction right now), some new shoes (Avery's idea!) , and a new doll. Need to start shopping!

Ready, Set, Go!

Can I start off by saying that starting a blog is no easy thing for me! After dragging myself up that steep learning curve, I have stumbled over the peak, quickly rolled head over heels down blogger mountain and now coasted to a quiet stop with Our Fortune Cutie.

Here it is!

This is for you Danielle!
